When you arrive in Scunthorpe, you will be welcomed into your new home. All John Leggott Sixth Form International students live in local accommodation with a homestay family, a service that was rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, the education watchdog, in 2023.

Our hosts families are chosen very carefully by the International Support Officer, are police checked and fully trained before we allow any students to move in. We visit the home first to ensure that it is a suitable place for you to live, and is clean, warm, comfortable and safe. Most homes are within walking distance of the college, but some students use public transport or cycle to college.

You will have your own bedroom at the homestay accommodation, and you can choose a variety of catering options. Once we have selected a suitable host family for your requirements, we will send you some details to enable you to learn more about them before your arrival in the UK. Throughout your time staying with the host family, our International Support Officer is on hand to offer advice and support with any queries you may have.

John Leggott Sixth Form College is situated in the heart of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and has excellent links with the local community. Scunthorpe boasts a cinema, leisure centre, a wide range of shops and parklands, and is within reach of larger cities including Hull, Leeds, Sheffield and Nottingham.
