Students who have diverse career aspirations, If you’re considering careers in business, social sciences, or humanities and have not selected Mathematics A Level, this course could be a perfect fit. The course content is not just theoretical or abstract; it emphasises real-life maths skills that can be applied in everyday work, study, or life scenarios.
This course is designed for students who wish to maintain their valuable maths skills, even if they do not plan to pursue A Level Mathematics. It can be studied alongside Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Geography, Psychology, Physical Education or Economics to support the mathematical elements of these courses.
This Level 3 qualification is equivalent to an AS Level in terms of UCAS points, making it a valuable addition to your academic credentials, it must be studied alongside three courses or a three course equivalent.

As awareness of Core Maths grows among universities, some are beginning to offer lower grade requirements to applicants who have studied this subject.
