Results Day at John Leggott 2024

We celebrate another year of exceptional A-Level and Level 3 results, as students receive their outstanding achievements. The college community is immensely proud of the hard work and dedication displayed by their learners, whose resilience and determination, coupled with the support of the teaching and pastoral staff, have been instrumental to their success.  

This year’s results once again solidify John Leggott College’s reputation as a leading provider of 16-19 education in the region. With a remarkable 8 in 10 completing Level 3 learners achieving A*-C grades or equivalent, our learners are able to progress to their desired destination, with many securing their places at top UK universities.

Students enrolled on the Aspire programme at John Leggott have had a fantastic year, with five learners securing a place at an Oxbridge University. Amongst our high achievers is Lauren Smith, a former Frederick Gough School students, who has earned A* grades in Maths, Biology & Chemistry, securing her a place at the University of Oxford to study Biochemistry. Upon receiving her results, Lauren said, “I am very excited but also very nervous about attending The University of Oxford. The support from the Aspire team has been amazing, I can never thank them enough! I am ecstatic and I cannot wait for the future.”

Former Huntcliff School (now Kirton Academy) student, Ruby Jackson, successfully gained a place at The University of Nottingham to study Geography. After receiving an A* grade in Geography, History & Politics, Ruby reflected on her John Leggott journey, “I have loved my two years at John Leggott and I am so grateful for the support given to me by a number of inspirational teachers. A big thank you to Simon, my Geography teacher, who has undoubtedly helped me in my journey to study Geography at University.”

Principal Leon Riley expressed his pride in the students’ accomplishments, stating, “I am immensely proud of all of our students, they are the region's best and will achieve great things in the future. A special thank you to all the staff who have supported our students throughout their JLC journey. ”
