About this course

This course is a bespoke one year programme for learners who require a supportive environment. The course aims to enhance a learners life skills in preparation for progressing with academic studies, gaining employment or joining a Supported Internship. There is a friendly structure top the style of learning and learners are given the opportunity to develop their employability skills, confidence and work independently.

Who is this aimed at?

There are three different pathways to choose from for our Foundation and Supported Internship Learning. This will be dependent on qualifications and life skills. This will be discussed at interview to ensure the right programme to suit the student's individual needs.

What will you learn?

Entry Level Foundation Learning

  • A personalised course which is designed to help students build their independence, progress with their studies and help develop their skills needed to be in successful employment. This course is designed to build qualifications to add to a CV, improve English and Maths skills, and develop independent living skills.

Level One and Two Foundation Learning 

  • A bespoke course designed as a stepping stone to support students to progress with their studies or employment. This course is designed to create a tailored opportunity to study a Level Two course, improve English and Maths skills and participate in work experience.

Supported Internship

  • This is an opportunity to continue at John Leggott College progressing from our Foundation Learning programme to develop work-based skills further for students with an Educational Health Care Plan. This course also includes classroom sessions developing professional and employability skills and becoming an independent traveller. Learners will have the opportunity to participate in a supported work placement. This programme is tailored to the individual. This course is also available for students that meet the requirements, which will be discussed at the interview.
