About this course
This course is ideal for learners who have a specific interest in the visual arts and enjoy the challenge of visualising their ideas and feelings using a wide range of media, including computers. This course includes a personal investigation alongside the opportunity to examine the relationship between practical ideas and the History of Art.
There will be opportunities to visit art galleries and other cultural events and you could enter your work into exhibitions.

Wish to prepare for study of the subject at a higher level
Enjoy the challenge of analysing and evaluating images
You could gain entry onto a Foundation Course in Art and Design, which leads on to degree courses in the visual arts and applied design subjects
What will you learn?
Core units:
Personal investigation explores the relationship between practical ideas and techniques with the History of Art, and a wider professional application.
Externally-set Assignment involves students showing evidence of their visual language and analytical skills. The exam submission includes a response to a set theme carried out over an in-class preparation period followed by a 15 hour timed test.
