GCSE English at Grade 5 and Maths at Grade 6 with an average points score of 6 or above. Students should take A Level Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Electronics alongside this course for future progression to Computing Science Degrees.

This course is assessed by coursework (20%) and exams (80%).

About this course

This course is ideal for learners who have a strong interest in programming and the mathematical side of computing. This course covers elements such as contemporary processors, software development, data types and much more. Students will also look at moral and ethical issues and elements of computational thinking. Computer Science is not the same as ICT, and is relevant if you have good mathematical and problem solving skills.
