5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths. You will also be invited to an audition day with more details discussed in your interview.

About this course

Taught by industry professionals from Kimberley Performing Arts Centre (KPAC), this course is ideal for students who have a genuine love and appreciation for Dance across a range of styles and disciplines.


The course is highly practical and is taught in a professional setting in a purpose-built and fully equipped dance studio. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their skill-set, progressing into industry based work in the future.


As part of the course students will learn about opportunities in Performing Arts, choreography and performance skills. Students will have the opportunity to go on theatre visits to see live performance and participate in workshops delivered by professional companies.


We offer different size qualification so that students can build a programme to suit themselves and their next steps.

Who is this aimed at?

This course is aimed at students who:

  • Have a genuine interest in all aspects of dance

  • Enjoy seeing live dance theatre, and discussing it

  • Enjoy performing and choreographing

  • Would like a career in the industry

What will you learn?

Foundation Diploma (equivelant to 1.5 A levels)

Students chosing to study this size qualification will complete 2 modules, both internally assessed:

  • Module C: Dance skills development

  • Module F: The performing arts industry


Extended Diploma (equivelant to 3 A Levels)

In addition to the units above, students chosing this qualification will student two more additional modules:

  • Module G: Personal performing arts profile

  • Module H: Collaborative performing arts project
