JLC Travel - Student Trip to Auschwitz

Five of our history students travelled to Krakow in Poland this week. They visited the town of Oswiecim where they saw the great synagogue and the market square before heading to Auschwitz 1 and Auschwitz Birkenau. Student Hope talked about how they delved into understanding the holocaust on a more personal level, while exploring individual stories as well as stories on a mass level.

Our students described the experience as surreal and noted how grateful they were to have the opportunity to learn more and take a moment to join in with a memorial service in which they lit candles and sang hymns to commemorate those who died.
