T Levels
T Levels have
arrived at JLC!
Alongside our A Level, BTEC and CTEC courses, John Leggott College now offer T Levels!
T levels have been developed by the government to give students a new choice after GCSEs. T Levels are a 2-year qualification which mix classroom learning with work experience placements to give students the opportunity to work towards their future career path whilst gaining invaluable industry experience.

What are
T-Levels?
Equivalent to 3 A Levels
T Levels provide students with an alternative to A levels, apprenticeships and other 16 to 19 courses. Equivalent in size to 3 A levels, the T Level programme will offer students a more hands on course, focusing on vocation skills that can help students in their future careers.
45 Day Industry Placement
Each T Level includes an in-depth industry placement that lasts at least 45 days. JLC will help you arrange this with a relevant industry link.
80% Classroom, 20% Work Placement
T Level students spend 80% of the course in their learning environment, gaining the skills that employers need. The other 20% is a meaningful industry placement, where they put these skills into action.
WORKING WITH EMPLOYERS
Supported
by businesses
T Levels were designed with leading businesses and are now supported by employers of all sizes to give students the workplace skills they need to succeed.
Hundreds of employers – including Lloyds Banking Group, Nestlé, Yorkshire Water, Persimmon Homes and NHS Trusts across England – have hosted T Level students on industry placements.
Many employers retain T Level students on completion of their course and support progression within their business onto an apprenticeship or into another role.

The John Leggott College Student Trust Fund was set up in memory of a former JLC Governor, Bill Martin, who was a keen advocate of social mobility. Established in 1995, the fund supports the advancement of education of present or former full-time students of John Leggott College, by granting financial assistance to them.
The fund can help with course material costs, such as art or textiles supplies, IT equipment, calculators. Previous applicants have successfully received grants for assistance with travel costs to university open days, college trips and visits, additional courses/summer schools, music lessons and equipment to name but a few. This can be either for your main academic subjects or extra-curricular activities/enrichments.
This will be sent to the Clerk to the Trustees who will be in contact to let you know if your application has been successful.
